Privacy Policy

World Battery Hub is a knowledge and data platform. We designed it to collect as little personal information as possible — which is why this policy is short, and why there is no cookie banner on this site.

At a glance: There are no user accounts, no comment system, no newsletter and no contact form on this site. We use no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics and no tracking pixels. The only personal information we hold is what you choose to send us by email, plus standard server logs kept by our hosting provider.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by World Battery Hub ("we", "us"), a battery knowledge and data platform. For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected].

Where this policy refers to "we" or "us", it means the operator of World Battery Hub — Jinzhou Chengguang Power Source Co., Ltd., trading as Chengguang Power Tech — as set out in the operator disclosure on the About page. The disclosure status does not change your rights under this policy.

2. What this site does not do

  • No user accounts, logins or profiles.
  • No comment system or public posting.
  • No newsletter subscription and no marketing email list.
  • No contact form — enquiries reach us by email.
  • No advertising cookies, no social-media pixels, no third-party analytics, no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting and no session recording.
  • No sale, rental or trading of personal information.

3. What we do collect

Only two categories of information:

  • What you send us. If you email us — for example to report a correction, ask a question, request data or make a licensing enquiry — we receive your email address, whatever name and organisation you include, and the content of your message and attachments.
  • Standard server logs. Our hosting and content-delivery provider records routine technical information when a page is requested — such as IP address, browser and device type, requested URL and timestamp — for security, abuse prevention and capacity planning.

We do not ask for and do not want to receive special-category or sensitive personal data. Please do not send it. If you do send such information, we will treat it as unintended and will aim not to retain it longer than necessary.

4. Cookies and local storage

This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies, and it stores nothing about you in your browser beyond what is needed to load the page. Our hosting and content-delivery provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site against bots and abuse; it is not used to profile you. Because no non-essential cookies are used, no consent banner is required on this site. If we ever add analytics or marketing cookies, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it.

5. How we use what we receive

  • to answer your email, including correction reports, editorial questions and data enquiries;
  • to keep records of corrections and editorial correspondence;
  • to protect the website against abuse and to keep it available;
  • to comply with legal obligations where they apply.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

6. Legal bases

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal information on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating and protecting this platform and in answering you; on your request or the performance of a contract where you have asked us for something (for example a data licence); and on legal obligation where records must be kept.

7. Sharing

We do not sell or trade personal information. We share it only where necessary: with our hosting, content-delivery, email and IT service providers (who process it on our instructions); with professional advisers such as accountants; or with authorities where we are legally required to disclose. We do not share it with advertising networks, data brokers or analytics providers.

Our service providers act as processors on our behalf. They may process only the information needed to provide the service (for example, delivering a page or routing an email), and only on our instructions. We do not authorise them to use your information for their own purposes.

8. International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, including where the website is hosted or delivered. Where personal information is transferred internationally we take steps to keep it protected — including contractual measures with our providers and limiting transfers to what is necessary for the purposes above.

Where required by applicable law (such as the GDPR for transfers out of the European Economic Area), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision, and we do not transfer personal information to any provider that cannot meet those safeguards.

9. Retention

Enquiry and correction correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle the matter and maintain an editorial record, then deleted or archived in a form that no longer identifies you where possible. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a short operational period. Where a law requires us to keep something (for example an accounting record), we keep it for as long as that law requires.

We do not keep personal information indefinitely, and we do not retain it for purposes beyond those in this policy. When a retention purpose ends, information is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

10. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold, including restricted access to our systems and accounts, transport encryption on this website where available, and limiting collection to what we actually need. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Access to email and editorial systems is limited to the people who need it, and we select service providers that apply reasonable security controls. In the event of a breach affecting your personal information, we will take steps to contain it and will notify you and any relevant authority where the law requires.

11. Your rights

Subject to applicable law — including the GDPR/UK GDPR and applicable U.S. state privacy laws — you may request to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to certain processing, receive it in a portable format, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Email [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable period and within any deadline set by applicable law.

12. Complaints and supervisory authorities

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your personal information, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority that applies to you — for example your national or regional supervisory authority in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, or the authority competent for your state or country. Because the operating entity that runs this platform is not yet published on this site, we do not name a single "lead" supervisory authority here; the authority competent for your own place of residence or place of work, or for the place of the alleged infringement, is the correct point of contact.

We will cooperate with any competent supervisory authority in relation to a complaint or an investigation concerning this platform. Nothing in this policy limits any right you have to seek a judicial remedy directly.

13. Children

This platform is published for engineers, professionals, students and researchers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. The version published on this page, with the review date above, is the current version.

Where a change is material — for example, if we begin using analytics or marketing cookies, or add a new processing purpose — we will make the change clear on this page and, where the law requires, seek consent before applying it.

If any part of this policy is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
