About World Battery Hub
World Battery Hub is a battery knowledge and data platform. It is informational and educational — not a store, not a certification body, and not a laboratory. This page explains what the platform is, how its content is made, how errors are handled, how its commercial section is kept separate from its editorial content, and who operates it.
What this platform is
World Battery Hub is a reference platform for people who work with batteries — engineers, buyers, importers, distributors, students and researchers. It explains how battery chemistries and ratings work, publishes specification and comparison data, offers calculators and tools, and documents standards, manufacturers and market figures.
The platform has two clearly separated parts. The editorial and data part is what this About page describes: researched, cross-verified, source-labelled reference content. The commercial part is the lead-acid product catalogue, which operates on a quotation (RFQ) basis and is kept visibly separate from editorial content. Nothing in the editorial part is paid placement, and nothing in the commercial part is presented as editorial judgement.
What the platform covers
The platform spans six areas, each maintained as its own site or section:
- Lead-acid knowledge — battery groups, CCA, AGM/EFB/gel/flooded chemistries, applications, charging and maintenance.
- Lithium knowledge — chemistries, cells, BMS, safety and emerging technology.
- Battery Basics 101 — the beginner path from "what is a battery" through capacity, voltage, charging and safety.
- Calculators and tools — runtime, sizing, charging-time and battery-finder tools.
- Standards — the standards directory used to interpret ratings.
- Product catalogue — the commercial section, clearly separated from the rest.
Editorial method
Every piece of editorial content is produced by the same process and to the same standard. The method is stated so a reader — human or machine — can see, before trusting a number, how it was obtained.
- Cross-verified, not translated. Content is synthesized from multiple independent sources, including Chinese and English primary material, rather than translated or paraphrased from a single source.
- Every number carries its standard. A CCA value states whether it is JIS, EN, SAE or DIN; a capacity states its rate (C20, C5, and so on); a dimension states its group convention. A number without a standard is not presented as fact.
- Conflicts are explained, not hidden. Where sources disagree, the disagreement and its likely cause are stated rather than a single number being silently chosen.
- No fabrication. If a figure cannot be traced to a source, it is stated qualitatively or marked as unknown. A missing value is left as a gap, never estimated to fill it.
- Confidence is labelled. Where a value is a typical range, a standard-defined limit or a manufacturer claim, the page says so, so a representative range is not mistaken for a guarantee.
- Limitations are stated. Calculators and worked examples are illustrative models with simplified assumptions; they are not a substitute for a design review or a load study.
Source hierarchy
Sources are ranked by independence and authority, in this order:
- Primary — manufacturer documentation, standards bodies (SAE, EN, JIS, IEC, UL, UN), and government or regulatory data.
- Secondary — industry publications, trade organisations and technical reviews.
- Community — forums and user reports, used only to discover real-world questions, never as evidence.
A claim is asserted as fact only when it can be traced to a primary or a corroborated secondary source. Anything below that threshold is stated qualitatively, or marked as unknown. Community sources are used to find out what people actually ask, not to prove what is true.
The World Battery Hub Research Desk
Content on this platform is produced by the World Battery Hub Research Desk — a collective editorial entity, not a named individual. We deliberately do not present a single-author "expert" persona, because a fabricated expert would be worse than an honest collective: the desk's authority rests on its process, which is stated and checkable, not on a name.
The desk's production process runs in four steps, in order:
- Collect — gather primary material: manufacturer datasheets, standards documents, and government or industry data.
- Cross-check — reconcile at least two independent sources for any factual claim, and record where they agree.
- Label — attach the source, the test standard and the confidence level to every number before publication.
- Explain — where sources disagree, state the disagreement and its likely cause instead of silently choosing one value.
- Research methodology — synthesis from multiple independent sources, cross-verified, never translated from a single source. See the full methodology.
- Source verification — every figure carries its source and its test standard; a number without a traceable source is stated qualitatively or marked unknown.
- Technical review — claims are reconciled against standards documents and manufacturer datasheets before publication; conflicts are explained, not silently resolved.
- Correction policy — errors are corrected in place and logged with the date, the old value and the new value.
- Editorial independence — the commercial product catalogue is separated from editorial and data content, and a commercial relationship does not change a rating, a standard or a confidence level.
If a real engineer or researcher reviews this material in the future, that person will be credited as a named reviewer — a real Person entity with their own record — never as a fictional byline.
Correction policy
Errors are corrected in place and logged. A correction does not rewrite history silently: the change is recorded with the date, the original value and the corrected value, so a reader can see what changed and when. Material corrections — those that change a specification, a standard reference or a conclusion — are reflected in the page's review date.
To report an error, use the editorial correction route on the Contact page. Include the page URL, the current value and the corrected value (with a source if you have one). Reports are triaged against primary sources before any change is made.
Editorial independence
The platform has a commercial section (the product catalogue) that is clearly separated from the editorial and data content. Editorial conclusions, buyer guidance and stance blocks are the Research Desk's own analysis and are labelled as such. They are not paid placement, and a commercial relationship — present or prospective — does not change a rating, a standard, a confidence level or a recommendation.
We do not accept payment to rank a manufacturer, to inflate a specification, or to suppress a finding. Where a figure comes from a manufacturer's own claim, it is labelled as a manufacturer claim and is not upgraded to "verified" without independent evidence.
Operator and platform disclosure
World Battery Hub is a battery knowledge and data platform. It publishes editorial and data content, and operates a clearly separated commercial product catalogue with a quotation (RFQ) process. This section states who operates the platform, and which registration details are published and which are available on request.
Operating entity. World Battery Hub is operated by Jinzhou Chengguang Power Source Co., Ltd., trading as Chengguang Power Tech, located in Jinzhou, Hebei, China.
We publish only the entity details we have confirmed. The full street address, the unified social credit code (registration identifier) and the operator's telephone number are not published on this page and are available on request through the Contact page. We do not state a more specific address or a registration number than we hold.
Fields available on request — not published on this page:
